Pillans Lake Hut
Known as Pillans Lake Hut #2, and by some as Chummy Johnston’s Hut.
Located on the north side of Pillans Lake
History
Pillans Lake Hut was built in 1969, by Jim Lynes and a few mates including Cliff Turner. Jim also built the Field hut (or Lake Field Hut) in 1967. It was Jim who bulldozed the track up to Field Hut and also the track out to Pillans.
The original Pillans hut was burnt down on 11th February 1997 by Ted Mead, who was a parks ranger. Locals, including Greg N. rebuilt the hut 2 weeks later.
Construction
Corrugated iron built over a timber frame.
