Known as Lee Creek Hut
Located on the Freestone Creek Road at 126314 on the Cobbannah-Tabberabbera 1:50,000 map. (Note these are in-correctly marked on the Rooftop Dargo-Wonnangatta map). It is located in the Briagolong State Forest, roughly between Briagolong and Dargo, in the broader Gippsland / Licola‑region high country of Victoria.
History:
The site at Lee Creek appears to have been used long before the current hut was built, with mountain cattlemen and later forest‑assessment parties working in the area from at least the mid‑19th century up to the 1950s.
Forest assessors in the mid‑1950s occupied the area, suggesting the hut or its predecessor served as a field camp or shelter for forestry and survey work.
