Lorna Doone Mine and Hut

Photograph from the KHA Archives taken in the early 1930s.

Known as Lorna Doone Mine or Lorna Doone Hut.

History

This was re-discovered amongst the re-growth in 1977 by Klaus Hueneke, Jim Dick and Elizabeth Morey in a steep gorge off the Tumut River. There are many remants of the old stamper and boiler.

The terrace that the cottage stood on, as seen above, is still very visible.
