Known has: Lake Rolleston Nissen Hut.

Location: The hut is situated near Lake Rolleston, an alpine lake positioned on an easterly track off Anthony Road (B28), east of Zeehan. The lake itself forms part of Hydro Tasmania's Henty-Anthony scheme and is primarily known as a secluded fishery for brook trout.

History

The hut was originally built to support the workers on the Henty Hydro Scheme.

Construction:

This hut is a classic Nissen Hut with the curved roof. It is built in the traditional Nissen Hut architectural style—a prefabricated, semi-cylindrical structure composed of a steel frame covered in corrugated iron with timber paneling sealing the ends. Originally invented during World War I by Major Peter Norman Nissen, this design became highly prominent across Australia during and immediately following World War II
