Known as Frog Lodge or Researchers Hut

Located at the southern most point of Birch’s Inlet at Macquarie Harbour and and at the start of the Point Hibbs Track. Getting here is quite a task and requires a small boat to penetrate the inlet sufficiently.

History

The hut was built to support researchers for the Orange Belly Parrot, and contained aviarys to assist the rare bird with reproduction. Today it is a hut used by quad bike riders and remote walking teams.
