Chris Lane Memorial Hut
Known as the Chris Lane Memorial Hut
Photographs by Matthew Hall
Located in NW Tasmania on the confluence of the Whyte River and Hazelwood River.
The History
This hut was built in late 2021 and completed in March 2022 by Lee Kingston and a bunch of his friends. It was built to recognise a great colleague called Chris Lane, who unfortunately died in a motorcycle accident in 2021. (I can personally relate to this accident as we are keen motorcyclists also, and have lost mates over the years in Australia and the US.)
Friends offered financial assistance to purchase materials and others provided the necessary transport to get it done. What a team!
Construction
The hut is built over pine timber and clad in colourbond. It includes a gas stove and also an open fire. A sign welcomes visitors. This is the quintessential interpretation of a bush hut in a new style.
Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
