Long Flat Homestead

Location

This hut is on the Horse Shoe Firetrail, about 8Km east of Yarrangobilly. It is on the Tantangara 1:100k and Peppercorn 1:25, 000 map at 369595.

Brief History

This was a hut was of moderate size, built for use by stockmen. It was also probably used by miners.

Construction

The hut was originally built with an iron roof, iron and slab walls plus a timber floor.

There were extensive yards nearby. The yards which are located about 1 kilometre from the ruin of Long Flat
